ErrorDock

ErrorDock vs Sentry

ErrorDock combines error monitoring, performance and product analytics with per-feature health, one ranked list of priorities, feature flags and uptime monitoring, behind one project. Sentry approaches the problem from a different starting point; this page sets out where they differ, factually.

Overview

Sentry is an application monitoring platform focused on error tracking and performance monitoring. It is open source, widely adopted, and has SDKs for a large number of languages and frameworks.

Feature comparison

ErrorDock compared with Sentry, feature by feature
Capability ErrorDock Sentry
Error monitoring Implemented Yes Sentry's core product. Source
Breadcrumbs Implemented Yes Source
Release tracking Implemented Yes Source
Regression detection Implemented Yes A resolved issue that reappears in a newer release is automatically marked Regressed. Source
Source maps JS & Hermes Yes Source maps are uploaded at build time, with Debug IDs injected into the build output. Source
Performance monitoring JS SDKs + OpenTelemetry Yes Sentry offers performance monitoring and tracing. Source
Distributed traces OpenTelemetry (OTLP JSON) Yes Distributed tracing across services. Source
Database performance Spans only, no query view Yes The Queries page reports throughput and duration per query, with the query's source in code on the SDKs that support it. Source
Product analytics Implemented — Not verified. Check current capabilities. Source
Feature analytics Implemented — Not verified. Source
Interaction tracking Implemented — Not verified. Source
Product Health Feature health + priorities — No equivalent concept to compare. ErrorDock's version is a per-feature health table and one ranked list of issues, latency regressions and underused features, which is a definition rather than a feature. Source
Impact-based priorities Implemented — No equivalent concept to compare. ErrorDock's version is a per-feature health table and one ranked list of issues, latency regressions and underused features, which is a definition rather than a feature. Source
AI root-cause analysis Implemented Yes Seer analyses the issue against the stack trace, tracing data, logs and the linked codebase to determine a root cause. Source
AI fix proposals and pull requests Proposals; PRs off in beta Yes Seer generates a code fix and can open a pull request. Unlike ErrorDock, it can be set to run automatically on issues that meet a threshold. Source
Feature flags .NET SDK only Partial Sentry ingests and correlates flag evaluations from providers such as LaunchDarkly, Statsig and Unleash. It does not serve flags to an SDK. Source
Uptime monitoring HTTP, one EU location Yes HTTP checks every minute, with a failure tolerance that defaults to three consecutive failures. Source
GitHub integration Read-only Yes Source
API access Ingest + read-only API Yes Documented web API with organization, internal-integration and personal tokens. Source

Pricing philosophy

Sentry publishes tiered plans priced on event volume. Check their pricing page for current figures — we deliberately do not reproduce competitor prices here, because quoted numbers go stale and a stale price is worse than no price.

When Sentry is the better choice

Teams who want mature, broad error monitoring across many languages and are happy to run product analytics separately.

When ErrorDock is the better choice

When you need to know not just that something broke, but whether it matters. ErrorDock is the option if you want error monitoring, performance and product usage in one platform, with one connected workflow, and you want one ranked list of what to fix, weighted first by how many real users each issue affects and whether it came back.
